This is a transformational role where you will have a direct impact on a growing aerospace company that is building a factory of the future and working on bleeding-edge technology. The opportunity is to shape how safety, quality, and airworthiness are embedded across the entire business, from design and manufacturing through to maintenance and operations.
This role goes far beyond maintaining systems and documentation. The successful candidate will work end-to-end across the organisation, partnering with senior leadership, engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to ensure safety is fully integrated into how the business runs. You will have the autonomy to shape and mature the Safety Management System, helping the organisation move from initial regulatory acceptance into a fully demonstrated, best-in-class operating model.
The business is investing heavily in cutting-edge manufacturing capability and advanced technologies that aim to revolutionise aviation technology. As part of this journey, the SMS Manager will be central to ensuring that innovation, pace, and safety move forward together. You will be visible across the site, involved in every major project, and trusted to engage confidently with regulators, customers, and governing bodies.
This role would suit someone who has genuinely done the job before, not just overseen it. You may come from a quality, safety, or compliance background within aerospace, defence, MRO, or manufacturing, and you will be comfortable operating at component or aircraft level. Experience with safety investigations, human factors, and regulated environments is essential, as is the ability to take complex regulatory expectations and turn them into practical, business-ready solutions.
If you are looking for a role where you can influence the whole organisation, help build a future-ready aerospace facility, and be part of technology that will shape the next generation of aviation, this is a unique opportunity to do so.
Requirements for this role:
Knowledge and experience with Part 145.
Experience running SMS.
Strong understanding of MRO and Manufacturing within a high-tech industry, ideally Aerospace
