Qualifications: QCF Level 3 Health & Social Care Children and Young People.
Hours: 24 hour shift rolling 3 week rota ( must be flexible)
Desirable Registration: Social Care Council For Wales and DBS Update Service
Full UK Drivers Licence ( Manual )
IT Literate : Microsoft Outlook, email, word, excel.
Welsh Speaking - desirable.
SICS have a wonderful career opportunity professional role model that is an experienced children's Residential Care Worker. You will need to have the ability to engage working with complex children and young people from a background of trauma at varying different levels.
Putting the HEART back into Residential Childcare.....
Experience: ideally 6-18 Months plus months in a residential child care setting. Autism/ESBD. the ideal candidate must have a good understanding of the autism spectrum, and strategies to both engage and support a child with special educational needs. The ability to Key work, do risk assessments, placement plans, health and safety checks. To support the team leader and give feedback to the care home manager. A good knowledge of attachment & childhood development, therapeutic parenting PACE, ability to manage challenging behaviours both physical and emotional.
Main purpose of the job:
Under the direction of the care home manager and team leader you will be working in collaboration as part of an integrated team to ensure the effective delivery of a high quality child care service provision, that secures good inspection reports.
As a Residential care worker post holder you will assist in all aspects of the day to day delivery of residential care and support for children and young people displaying challenging behaviours with emotional social behavioural difficulties and special educational needs.
To provide advice, guidance and support to the young people in our care, ensuring that their emotional and developmental needs are identified and met and that their safety, health and well-being are promoted in accordance with current guidance and legislation. To positively engage and work with the young people to help enable them to come to terms with and address their difficulties, in a safe, caring environment, whilst demonstrating a positive adult role model.
