This is an exciting opportunity to join the Radiology Department at Sherwood Forest Hospital as the IR(ME)R and governance lead. We are a friendly department and have high standards of quality, safety, and patient care.
This is a pivotal role in creating and maintaining a radiation safety culture across all members of staff within the department. Your knowledge and skills will support understanding of legal requirements and responsibilities involving IR(ME)R17 and IRR17 across the Trust and within the community.
The post holder will ensure that all aspects of our services operate within robust clinical governance and quality assurance guidelines to ensure a safe, compassionate service. They will be responsible for writing and updating policies, standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintaining the non-medical referrers database. They will work closely with the radiology management team, medical physics colleagues and the divisional governance lead to undertake investigations and follow up actions and recommendations. The post holder will be the departments representative at both departmental and divisional governance meetings, each held monthly.
The post holder will undertake some clinical duties in their speciality area.

Essential
1. Advanced Specialist knowledge and expertise, underpinned by theory and practical experience of radiology Quality Assurance, audit and Governance.
2. Specialist knowledge of all modalities within Radiology
3. Knowledge of relevant regulatory bodies and their requirements
4. Thorough knowledge of radiation regulations.
Qualifications
Essential
5. DCR or BSc Hons Radiography, Evidence of further study/MSc
6. Post graduate qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant subject, equating to Master's level
7. HCPC registration

8. Previous experience of Quality Assurance program and knowledge of current policies, legislation affecting radiology departments.
