Job Title: Behaviour Mentor at Special School in Yeovil
Five Education is seeking a behaviour mentor to work in a special school in Yeovil. You will support a SEMH (Social Emotional and Mental Health needs) class, working with the whole class or on a 1:1 basis.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Work alongside classroom teachers to support the behaviour of pupils with SEMH needs.
2. Assist with inclusion activities and lesson differentiation.
3. Support pupils 1:1 or in small groups, potentially outside the classroom, including vocational subjects.
4. Use de-escalation techniques to maintain a calm environment and facilitate access to education.
5. Provide positive role modeling and feedback for assessments.
Essential Criteria:
* Patience, flexibility, and dedication.
* Confidence to support KS3 and KS4 students.
* Calm demeanor and strong behaviour management skills.
* Right to work in the UK (valid visa).
* Relevant DBS/Police checks.
* Team Teach certification is advantageous but not essential.
* Availability to work 8:30-15:30, Monday to Friday, during term time.
Additional Information:
If you do not have a Non-Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, we can assist with processing a new one at a cost of £62.70, refundable after 20 days of employment.
