The position is based at Alsager Library, which is where the mobile library is garaged.

You would need to hold a clean C1 driving licence and a Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC). The job involves driving our mobile library from it's base at Alsager Library into the rural communities throughout the whole of Cheshire East, following a regular three week timetable. You would need to undertake daily routine maintenance checks and take responsibility for the security, cleanliness and refuelling of the vehicle. You would need to engage with our customers in a friendly, helpful manner, and sometimes use our online IT systems to help issue and return books. In addition you need to have a knowledge of Health and Safety processes and procedures and the ability to lift books on and off the library and operate the lift.
