My client is a high profile Regulator and the role can either be based in London or Birmingham
Job Description
Policy Manager (c. 6 months FTC)London or BirminghamRole:
3. Lead on the development, delivery and implementation of key policies, applying robust project management techniques.
4. Lead on the development and conduct of rigorous impact assessments, including equality impact assessments, of policy proposals.
5. Maintain knowledge of current thinking and best practice within the wider regulatory, legal services, professional education and training and public policy environments.
6. Reflect a broad-based interest in public policy, make senior-level contribution to the discussion and debate which informs the development of the Regulator's regulatory policy and/or education and training agenda, internally.
7. Represent the Regulator's position at conferences and other events.
8. Establish influential relationships at a senior level with key external stakeholders which reflect a sound understanding of their agenda.
9. Evaluate and monitors the effectiveness of regulatory activity, including education and training requirements.
10. Produce, supervise the production of and present a wide range of well-written reports, consultation papers, policy documents, committee and board papers.
The Successful Applicant

11. Strong working background in a Policy role
12. Experience of policy development work in similar or related environment.
13. Experience of leading project teams and of using robust project management techniques to deliver and implement policy.
14. Strong decision maker, able to think independently and to produce practical and clear conclusions to complex issues.
15. Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
16. Previous experience of producing well written, complex reports, consultation papers, policy documents, committee and board papers.
17. Excellent knowledge of Westminster and Whitehall
18. An academic background in policy, law, or a related field.
19. Proven experience in policy development and implementation.
20. Exceptional communication skills to engage with various stakeholders.
21. Strong leadership skills and the ability to drive strategic objectives.
22. An understanding and commitment to the values of the Not For Profit sector.
