Description
Position Summary:
As our carpenter, you'll work closely with the Production Manager and will use your carpentry and general handyman skills to complete service calls throughout the assigned geography.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Repair stucco, siding, drywall, soffit damage, and roof leaks
2. Complete minor solar electrical work on solar components
3. Perform rivet placards, dig trenches, repair roofs and/or ground mounts
4. Notate any issues that require correcting and notify the Production Manager
5. Service, add, or remove solar panel systems when necessary
6. Review job site pictures and gather all necessary parts to ensure inspection passes
7. Perform onsite pre-inspection prior to the arrival of the inspector
8. Open electrical panels and/or junction boxes for easy access and inspector’s visibility
9. Set up and tie off ladders for city/county inspectors
10. Maintain company vehicles serviced and stocked with necessary materials
11. Ensure a safe working environment with adherence to and enforcement of safety standards
12. Identify gaps and risks in safety standards and make recommendations to management
13. Ensure tasks are performed according to organizational quality, environmental, health, and safety standards, policies, and procedures
14. Perform other duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications:
* At least 2 years’ experience in roofing, carpentry, or handyman work
* Skilled in using power and hand tools
* Reliable; arrive on time and do your best work every day
* Ability to work well in a team environment
* Maintain clean and safe work areas
* Familiarity with electrical plans and field layouts
* Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
* Self-motivated with an attention to productivity, detail, and safety
* Able to work safely at heights, on ladders, and in confined areas
* Physically able to stand, sit, bend, twist, climb, see, hear, and frequently lift, push, or pull 50-70 pounds, and use hands to perform work
* Able to read and understand plans
* High School Graduate or GED
