FILM & SMART SURFACE SOLUTIONS (F&SSS)
We are Film & Smart Surface Solutions (F&SSS) and currently active in more than 50 countries. Our main production location is in the UK, with plans in place to realise a second production location in Asia. Our R&D and Technical centres are already in all three territories, Americas, Asia and Europe.
Our target for the F&SSS division is to become the market leader in the in-mold electronics space for the automotive industry. It capitalizes on emerging trends in human-machine interfaces, displays and in-mold electronics. The division combines our extensive offering of speciality films for the industrial and automotive industries with our developing portfolio of flexible and formable conductive and non-conductive inks. The combination of these products with our in-depth materials and process expertise enables our customers to create formed, structurally rigid three dimensional automotive controls and displays that are at the forefront of modern cockpit aesthetics and functionality. Job Purpose
This role is responsible for demonstrating continuous improvement methodology combined with problem solving tools as a key strategy to deliver productivity and engagement objectives. Position leads the operations teams within Films & Smart Surface Solutions (F&SSS) to reach corporate and plant goals. Leads strategic and tactical deployment of various business tools throughout the legacy FIM & Industrial product lines within F&SSS with accountability for ensuring that the functional teams are achieving significant and sustainable results.
Work with business unit and functional leaders to develop process improvement strategies, which includes, but is not limited to:
* Own the management operating system agenda/operations
* Assess manufacturing and business process efficiency and performance and find opportunities for improvement
* Develop business cases, methods and processes to establish financial and non-financial project goals
* Partner in organizational change activities (create transition plans from current to future state and execute)
* Drive initiatives to ensure proper achievement of results
* Develop and execute action plans to achieve strategic goals
Job Responsibilities
* Owns S&OP globally for F&SSS business.
* Contributes to NPI processes and procedures.
* Develops operational talent pipeline by acting as an owner and developing key employees for key global roles
* Manages direct reports and multiple layers of the F&SSS global operations team.
* Partners with Business leadership on Lean process projects using Lean tools and metrics
* Assists in the development of a Lean strategy to be implemented across the legacy HKW business
* Makes implementation and results a top priority and regularly updates the Business's Continuous Improvement implementation plan
* Empowers every employee in the business through positive reinforcement of continuous improvement. "Make continuous improvement the way we do things at Films & Smart Surface Solutions."
* Serves as a catalyst for successful and sustained continuous improvement implementation.
* Provides high level of technical and operational recommendations in meeting material control, product quality and customer service goals
* Supports coaching and teaching of continuous improvement principles using outside resources
* Understand the current culture by reviewing existing documentation of policies and procedures
Requirements & Qualifications
* Minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent qualifications & experience in Business, Business Management, Marketing, Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Minimum of ten plus years of related operations experience.
* Experience in the coated films, specialty chemicals and/or electronics materials markets and a strong technical understanding is highly preferred.
Skills
* Has demonstrated the ability to articulate the desired state, purpose and value of lean and constantly moving in the direction of waste elimination
* Has participated in numerous lean events in manufacturing, engineering and support areas
* Good understanding of financial measurements and goals and has good analytical skills
* Excellent communication skills to lead and support empowered employees in a team environment
* Good presentation skills to effectively share the success and ideas of the Business.
* An understanding of efficiency management principles such as Value Stream Transformation (Mapping), Just-in-Time, Demand Flow, Single Piece Flow, Five S's, Visual Management, Standard Work, etc.
* Leadership: Willingness to work on the shop floor and lead by example; ability to influence decision making with or without authority, facilitate groups with different perspectives, bring teams to agreement. High tolerance for ambiguity
