About the Role
We are seeking an Advisor to assist residents with information, advice, and support regarding Council, non-Council services, and related services via telephone and email. Your responsibilities include resolving and recording customer enquiries, and where necessary, signposting or passing on enquiries to specialist officers. Providing high-quality customer service is essential.
This is a fixed-term contract initially for 6 months, funded through external sources.
About You
To succeed in this role, you should demonstrate:
* A good standard of written English and grammar
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with team members at various levels
* An understanding of the cultural and social needs of different community sections
* Self-motivation and excellent time management skills
* Experience working with the public via phone or face-to-face
* Proficiency with relevant software, including Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel)
* The ability to objectively evaluate process adherence without undue influence
You will work Monday to Friday, with potential weekend work depending on service needs.
Previous experience in a Contact Centre is preferred but not essential.
Additional Requirements
External candidates must be residents of Rochdale, living within the borough's boundaries (paying council tax to Rochdale Borough Council).
