About the role:
We’re looking for a skilled and reliable Multi‑Skilled Operative to join our team, supporting a busy emergency and responsive repairs contract in Tonbridge. This is a fast‑paced, hands‑on role where you’ll be first on site for urgent repairs, making homes safe, secure, and habitable for residents when it matters most.
You’ll be attending emergency and priority call‑outs across occupied properties, responding to issues such as leaks, security breaches, damaged doors, and other repairs that require immediate action. Working across multiple trades, you’ll be expected to diagnose problems quickly, carry out effective “make safe” works, and complete high‑quality permanent repairs where possible.

Duties:
1. Respond to emergency, urgent, and responsive repair call‑outs across occupied social housing properties
2. Carry out “make safe” works to secure properties following emergency repairs
3. Repair or replace internal door frames, doors, locks, handles, and hinges
4. Identify and resolve urgent plumbing issues such as leaks, burst pipes, dripping taps, and blocked sinks
5. Complete patch plastering and make good damaged walls or ceilings following emergency repairs
6. Carry out wall and floor tiling repairs, including grouting and sealing
7. Painting and decorating to a professional finish following repair or make‑safe works
8. Work efficiently to meet service level agreements for emergency response times
9. Deliver excellent customer service while working sensitively in residents’ homes
10. Participate in an out‑of‑hours emergency call‑out rota as required
11. Accurately diagnose issues and report follow‑on or specialist works where required
12. Record job details, materials used, and completion notes using handheld devices or job sheets
13. Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in safe and good working order
14. Manage workload effectively while responding to changing priorities throughout the day
Role Criteria:
15. Proven experience delivering emergency and responsive domestic repairs across multiple trades, including, plumbing, Locksmith carpentry, plastering, tiling, and basic decorating
16. Full UK driving licence, with the ability to travel to urgent call‑outs across the contract area
17. Confident working independently in high‑pressure situations, prioritising emergency repairs and changing workloads
18. Strong fault‑finding, diagnostic, and problem‑solving skills, particularly when responding to urgent repairs and make‑safe works
19. Excellent customer service skills, with experience working sensitively in occupied homes during emergency situations
20. Good understanding of health and safety regulations, risk assessments, and safe working practices when attending urgent repairs
21. Ability to accurately record emergency works, follow‑on repairs, and materials used via handheld devices or job management systems
22. Provide own hand and power tools
23. Willingness and flexibility to participate in an out‑of‑hours emergency call‑out rota
