Aspiring Psychologist – Mental Health – Hemel Hempstead – Education and Training
Start dates are ongoing and depend on notice periods or the completion of studies.
You must be sincere and understand why you want to work with autistic students and children with potential and mental health challenges. This role involves working with verbal and nonverbal students.
This position offers the opportunity to observe therapists, SEN staff, ABA Tutors, and mental health specialists at work.
It provides a valuable training ground for aspirations within mainstream and SEN teaching, including observing OTS, Speech and Language Therapists, and more. The goal is to give children a sense of purpose and improve their lives.
**Intermediate learning levels, tailored curriculum for each student
**Focus on ADHD, Asperger’s, OCD, Dyslexia, and social, emotional, and mental health challenges
**Outstanding support teams, holistic and positive atmosphere from EYFS to KS4, including OTs, Speech and Language Therapists, SEN Teachers, and outside agencies depending on each child's needs
**Focus on learning needs and autism, delivering key, personal, and functional skills
**Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
This LSA role involves challenging and sometimes anti-social contexts, providing foundational experience. Understanding de-escalation and appropriate language is crucial.
Restorative and holistic practices are in place; pragmatism and positive reinforcement are key skills for this role, which specializes in working with students with autism, Asperger’s, OCD, global developmental delay, and some profound and multiple learning difficulties.
