Our UK Insurance Technology practice empowers some of the biggest Insurance clients to solve their most complex business problems and transform their organisations through embedding the latest technology.
You'll have the opportunity to collaborate with a vibrant, experienced team of Analysts, Developers, UX Designers, and Architects in the Insurance sector. The opportunity
As part of EY Consulting Insurance Technology practice, you will work across various engagements, including Insurance Core Platform implementations, leveraging emerging technology within insurance, and technology-enabled business transformations. Our focus on EMEIA means our team operates across Europe, with continued growth of approximately 30% year-on-year.
We seek enthusiastic individuals with an agile mindset, problem-solving skills, and industry knowledge of Insurance and/or Technology Consulting to support our capabilities and growth.

Your key responsibilities
* Collaborate with clients to establish a business-driven vision for their IT systems, processes, and infrastructure, applying leading practices to enhance capabilities.
* Create IT strategies and architecture roadmaps, including transition stages toward final goals.
* Understand the full architecture stack: network, data, application, system, security, and integration architectures.
* Develop artefacts at appropriate levels to communicate effectively with both business and technical audiences.
* Define and document key design decisions based on engagement objectives.
* Coordinate with business and technical teams during solution design and delivery.
* Provide technical expertise for evaluating and selecting software products, standards, and services, including designing software configurations.
* Lead EY practice and people development activities.
* Build and lead high-performing teams.
* Contribute to the development of EY solutions, tools, and methods.
* Support architecture governance aligned with industry best practices, standards, and client policies.
Skills and attributes for success
* Minimum 8 years as an Architect.
* Over 10 years in Financial Services Technology.
* Knowledge of ERD/UML/process diagram notations.
* Experience with enterprise integration patterns.
* Ability to articulate technical solutions to stakeholders and build strong relationships.
* Deliver high-quality work within timeframes and budgets.
* Thorough knowledge of Insurance (General, Specialty, and Life).
* Understanding of governance, support, and organisation of technology.
* Strong background in technology packages like Guidewire, Fadata, Duckcreek, Pega, etc.
* Experience in architecture domains: enterprise, solution, infrastructure, security, data.
* Experience with large-scale program delivery (agile and waterfall).
* Knowledge of cloud solutions, AI, microservices, and emerging tech.
* Ability to produce high-quality outputs under tight deadlines.
* High drive, commitment, and ability to work under pressure.
* Excellent technical communication skills and experience working in dynamic client environments.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Stakeholder management skills across all organizational levels.

* Experience with end-to-end delivery of large tech projects.
* Knowledge of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
* Experience managing cross-functional teams.
* Familiarity with development frameworks like ITIL and COBIT.
Preferred additional skills
* Knowledge of AWS/Azure cloud stacks.
* Understanding of TDD/BDD practices.
* Experience with blockchain, microservices, and emerging tech.
* Awareness of market trends affecting industry players.
* Business development and client management experience.
* TOGAF 9.1 and/or Zachman certification (preferred).
