ASSISTANT PRODUCER (VIDEO PODCASTS)
Based in the heart of Shoreditch, we are an award winning digital content studio and media network who are currently on a quest to find an Assistant Producer (Video Podcasts) to join our team at History Hit. History Hit is part of Little Dot Studios and the UK’s biggest digital history brand.
We are seeking a highly organised and creative Assistant Producer to join our dynamic podcast team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for history and storytelling, with proven experience in audio production, research, and guest management. You will play a crucial role in planning, developing, and executing compelling podcast episodes, working closely with producers and presenters to deliver high-quality content that engages and expands our audience.

HOW YOU'LL SPEND YOUR TIME
* Work with Video Producer and production team on editorial planning for filmed podcasts (3x episodes a week).
* Work with Production Manager on arranging the recording location set-up, booking and logistics.
* Perform tech-call for remote guests when necessary.
* Oversee on-location filmed podcast filming days (independently and with production team).
* Manage delivery and storage of recording day files.
* Compliance and quality check for filmed podcasts (3x episodes released weekly).
* Maintain the shared project tracker (Asana).
* Assist with talent on recording days.
* Work closely with Assistant Producers/Editors and edit where necessary.
* Generate new ideas and exciting ways to tell stories in audio/video format.
* Inform the look and visuals of a podcast brand.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
* Experience in the production of podcasts, including recording both in-studio and on location.
* Familiarity with the differences between audio and video podcast formats and what works effectively for each.
* Ability to generate ideas and develop treatment concepts. This includes thorough and professional research skills to support content development.
* Comfortable collaborating with high-profile talent.
* Experience sourcing guests and proposing episode formats and treatments.
* Strong organisational skills (to manage the administrative aspects of production), and effective time management (for multiple project deadlines across different teams).
* Proficient in recording, directing, and self-editing, with technical expertise in editing software such as Adobe Audition and Premiere.
* Ability to interpret and incorporate editorial feedback and communicate effectively with the wider team; similarly, able to identify potential editorial issues proactively before they become issues.
* Effective interpersonal skills for working with producers, team members, and external partners.
* Nuanced understanding of diverse audiences and a commitment to inclusivity, encompassing underrepresented viewpoints and stories is greatly valued.
* Understanding of YouTube platform dynamics and interpretation of its analytics.
* Familiarity with History Hit and its various podcast brands, and have a strong interest in history, podcasts, and storytelling - this is integral!
