Role Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full‑time Occupational Therapist specialising in Neuro‑Rehabilitation. We are looking to recruit a B7 Senior Specialist Occupational Therapist for our Neurological Rehabilitation Unit at Trafford General Hospital on a full‑time permanent basis.
Candidate Profile
We're looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and forward‑thinking Occupational Therapist with experience of working in neuro‑rehabilitation at Band 6 level and above.
Responsibilities
* Work clinically to support the assessment and delivery of rehabilitation to patients, and support their discharge and complex case management.
* Provide senior leadership, supporting service development and improvements and providing leadership to Occupational Therapists in the team.
* Co‑ordinate and monitor activity and caseload demands on the unit, provide evidence‑based training within the MDT and support junior therapists to ensure high‑quality care.
* Provide supervision, appraisal and teaching to the OT team, and support the Therapy Clinical Lead with service provision and development opportunities.
Qualifications
* Knowledge and experience of assessing and treating cognition, vision and spasticity
* In‑depth knowledge of the mental capacity act and complex discharge planning
* Excellent communication skills
* Skills in neurological management, rehabilitation and multidisciplinary working
* Experience of complex discharge planning within the NHS
* Strong leadership skills essential to complement advanced Occupational Therapy knowledge and skills
