Main duties of the job
The post holder will work predominantly at Clifton Hospital where there is a strong focus on multi-disciplinary teamwork. The post holder will receive leadership support from the Divisional Team.
 * Support the progression of patient pathways in line with the Clifton Transformation Model.
 * Provide medical review to include assessment and management of the deteriorating patient.
 * Participate in regular MDT board rounds to review patient care and progress towards discharge.
 * Support the screening/review of referred patients from varying clinical services including repatriations from external Trusts.
 * Maintain knowledge and skills with utilisation of relevant e-portfolio. Study leave provision will be available.
 * Participate in training of advanced clinical practitioners and medical undergraduates.
 * Contribute towards mortality review processes, clinical audit and clinical governance & educational meetings.
 * Form part of the weekend on-call rota (combination of resident and non-resident) with other specialty doctors. Prospective cover will be required to meet service needs.
 * Share with colleagues and other intermediate level staff in dictation of documentation in respect of patients, where appropriate, in addition to general administrative duties as part of the role.

Job responsibilities
The post holder will work predominantly at Clifton Hospital where there is a strong focus on multi-disciplinary teamwork. The post holder will receive leadership support from the Divisional Team and will deliver a wide range of clinical care in managing patients in a community hospital setting. There is also a requirement of weekend on-call provision.

 * Share with colleagues and other intermediate level staff in dictation of documentation in respect of patients, where appropriate, in addition to general administrative duties as part of the role.
Person Specification
Education & Qualifications
 * Full and current unrestricted GMC (UK) registration on the GP register. Successful completion of General Practice Specialist Training
 * Broad exposure to general and geriatric medicine in the UK
 * Experience in service development and improvement
Experience and Knowledge
 * Experience teaching undergraduates, postgraduates and allied health professionals
 * Previous experience of working in the NHS / NHS working practices and systems
Skills & Ability
 * Enthusiasm and commitment to the specialty
 * Skills in team leadership and being a productive team member. Excellent organisational and time management skills.
 * Active participation in British Geriatric Society activities
