Old Dominion University’s Department of Educational Leadership and Workforce Development in the Darden College of Education & Professional Studies is announcing two positions in community college leadership. We invite applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor position and an assistant or associate professor position in Community College Leadership, beginning July 2025. Applicants should be comfortable teaching in both our Community College Leadership and Workforce Development programs. We invite scholars with a focus on topics related to community colleges with interests in areas such as policy, evaluation, and research methods. Old Dominion University has the Research 1 Classification, indicating "very high research activity," from the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education, placing it among the highest level of research institutions in the United States. Candidates for this position should exhibit the ability to engage in a rigorous research agenda on topics related to the community college, publish in peer-reviewed research journals and outlets, and generate research-related grant activity. The candidates for this position are expected to teach synchronous distance courses and face-to-face courses for students in the Community College Leadership program in our 1-week summer institute. Responsibilities • Engage in scholarly activity (e.g., publish in peer-reviewed journals, grant activity) • Teach (hybrid, face-to-face, and online) courses •. Develop courses and contribute to program design, development, evaluation, and improvement • Provide service to the program, department, university and profession • Effectively recruit, guide, and advise community college leadership graduate students • Chair and serve on doctoral dissertation committees Minimum Qualifications:
