Position Purpose
Prepare prescription orders accurately and timely under pharmacist supervision.
Education and Experience
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* 1+ year experience as pharmacy technician or medical office (biller, coder, office assistance, prior authorization/certification).
* Familiarity with drugs for chronic/debilitating illnesses.
Licenses and Certifications
* Current Missouri Pharmacy Technician license OR ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
* Preferred: Missouri Pharmacy Technician license or equivalent state license.
Responsibilities
* Interact with various departments to provide accurately dispensed prescriptions on a timely basis.
* Work under direct supervision of a pharmacist.
* Perform prescription data entry functions (preQA) by viewing images and inputting prescription information directly into the system.
* Prepare and submit requests for prescription refills.
* Initiate clarification requests.
* Receive verbal instructions from prescribers as allowed by pharmacy regulation.
* Complete reorder processing for timely filling of prescription refills.
* Comply with safety, quality assurance, accreditation, legal, state, and federal regulatory requirements, and company policies.
* Complete work list according to guidelines set by Manager.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
