Job Description
Contribute as part of a team to the provision of a quality early learning and childcare service for children aged 0-8 years and their families. Work in accordance with the principles of the national care standards for early education and childcare, and abide by the Code of Practice for Social Service Workers.
Requirements
The duties involve Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful applicants will be required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member for Regulated Work with these groups, or if already a member, to undergo a PVG Scheme Record Update. No formal employment offer will be made until these conditions are met. PVG records are regularly updated, and any relevant disclosures will be discussed with the applicant prior to employment.

The Individual
This is a temporary, full-time, term-time position based at Cairns Early Childhood Centre, Kilmarnock, until 15 June 2026. The hours are 35 per week, scheduled as directed by the line manager. The full-time annual salary ranges from £30,176 to £32,287; the actual salary for term-time work is between £25,881 and £27,692.
