Axon Moore are exclusively recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing business based in Tameside to appoint a Part-Qualified Assistant Management Accountant. The business is well established in the market and will be growing in the future. They have a small finance team, so this role is integral to the day to day running of the business. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified accountant to join a dynamic finance team and gain hands-on experience across multiple areas. You'll begin by managing transactional processes and gradually be introduced to month-end tasks. The role is structured to develop at a steady and supportive pace through to Management Accountant level in the next 12-18m. Salary and benefits: Salary £30-33k DOE plus study support, 21 days holiday rising with service up to 31 days plus bank holidays, pension, parking, hybrid working (2-3 days in the office), Bike 2 Work scheme, Medicash and access to GPs, plus others! Responsibilities include: Manage all transactional elements and maintain the ledgers for two entities. Process bank payments and record. Reconcile the bank transactions and maintain the cashbook. Month end preparation; accruals and prepayments, journals and reconciliations. Shadow the month end process with a view to taking ownership. Shadow the payroll reporting with a view to taking ownership. Assist with report preparation, gathering data for the Finance Manager and ad-hoc tasks. Support with the P&L and budget to actual comparisons, eventually drafting the monthly P&L. Support the audit process, handling queries and gathering info as requested. Eventually participate and lead in monthly finance review meetings with stakeholders, giving insights and information on variances. Assist with the budgeting and forecasting cycles. Eventually take full ownership of all finance related matters for the two entities. Experience & Skill Requirements: AAT qualified and/or Part-qualified ACCA/CIMA with experience as an Assistant Management Accountant. Previous experience in a transactional role and knowledge of accounting prinicples across AP and AR. Strong IT skills, notably in Excel. Use of Xero is beneficial. A good understanding of financial accounting principles and concepts. Ability to communicate to different levels in the organisation. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Actively seeking out opportunities to progress while actively studying. Excellent organisational skills, especially around deadlines, month end, etc. Shows initiative and has the ability to manage changing priorities.
