Hours worked from 7am to 8pm will be paid at the basic rate plus 1/3 of the hourly rate. Sleep-in payments are paid at the National Living Wage rate. The role offers 32 paid annual leave days per year, increasing to 37 days after 5 years of service.
As a Care Assistant within Adult Services Resources, you will be part of a key team supporting individuals with long-term health conditions to take control of their lives. Your role involves promoting social inclusion and providing opportunities for people with disabilities in various community settings. Support will be tailored to increase social and independent living skills in a person-centred manner that aligns with social inclusion principles.
You may assist with daily life skills, personal care, housework, shopping, cooking, attending appointments, administering medication, and maintaining records in support plans.
You will help maintain regular contact with family, friends, social activities, colleges, work opportunities, and holidays.

The Person

You should have or be willing to achieve the Social Services and Healthcare SCQF level 6 (or equivalent) within the first registration period to meet Scottish Social Services Council requirements.
Duties include all aspects of personal care and the ability to undertake moving and handling tasks, including pushing and pulling wheelchairs.
Flexibility is required to accommodate the needs of service users regarding work days and hours.
The successful candidate will work on an as-required basis, including days, evenings, weekends, sleep-ins, and wakened nights, including public holidays and festive periods. The role promotes social inclusion by supporting individuals to maximize independence, health, and access to community opportunities.
Good communication, organizational, workload management, teamwork, literacy, and IT skills are essential. The role involves working both as part of a team and independently.
