We're recruiting a Band 6 Management Accountant to take ownership of a delegated portfolio, partnering with stakeholders to deliver clear, timely financial advice, strong budgetary control and high-quality reporting. You'll help shape plans, spot risks early and support colleagues to deliver an excellent finance service.

Main duties of the job
* Lead on month-end processes for your area, ensuring accurate, timely reporting and robust working papers.
* Provide current and forecast financial information, translating complexity for both finance and non-finance managers.
* Manage reconciliations and resolve complex queries with internal stakeholders and external clients.

Our Integrated Care Board (ICB) is the largest in the country.
The ICB is responsible for ensuring that high quality and safe health services are accessible to all of our communities. It has a wide range of functions, including promoting integration of health and care services, improving peoples health and well-being, reducing health inequalities.
With a £6.6 billion budget and a workforce of 170,000 people across the North East and North Cumbria. As well as strategic functions, ICB staff also work at place level with local health and wellbeing boards in each of our 14 local authority areas. These teams also work alongside our 67 primary care networks which are groups of local GP practices, social care teams and other community-based area providers.
The ICB works with our Provider Collaborative too, this includes the 11 NHS Foundation Trusts in the region, to deliver our shared priorities.
Job responsibilities
Support budget setting, in-year budgetary control and financial performance management (including contract support where relevant). Identify and escalate financial risks, and help deliver cost improvement and efficiency programmes. Support audits, governance requirements and the implementation of financial policies and new guidance. Provide day-to-day leadership to junior colleagues and deputise for senior staff when required.
Qualifications
* AAT Level 4 / Part Qualified Accountant or equivalent to degree level or equivalent experience.
* Evidence of continuing personal and professional development.
Experience
* Experience of staff management.
* Experience and expertise of large integrated financial systems, processes and controls and dealing with large volumes of data in analysis.
* Experience of working autonomously with confidential and sensitive information.
* Experience of dealing with external agencies and audit.
