Class Teacher – Year 8 (Complex SEN Class)
Location: Mainstream Special School Setting

Salary: Pay to scale (MPS/UPS, dependent on experience)
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Class Teacher to work with a Year 8 complex needs class within a supportive and well-resourced specialist setting. This is a rewarding opportunity for a passionate teacher who is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
About the Role
You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of students in a small class setting. The pupils have a range of complex SEN, which may include:
* Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
* Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD)
* Communication and interaction needs
* Social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH)
* Sensory processing needs
You will work closely with a skilled team of Teaching Assistants, therapists, and support staff to ensure each student can access learning in a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will:
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Have experience working with SEN, particularly in complex or specialist settings (desirable but not essential)
* Demonstrate strong behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
* Be patient, flexible, and emotionally resilient
* Be confident adapting the curriculum to meet individual needs
* Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Have a clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
