The Role The Marketing Communications Specialist plays an essential role in growing brand value in our business through collaboration and sharing best practices across the Brand team. The Marketing Communications Specialist strategizes and executes persuasive, compelling copy that motivates and inspires the Lush customer. In addition to writing to various audiences, they'll create copy for a variety of channels, including digital and print promotional materials, as well as brainstorm ideas and develop concepts for months-long campaigns and projects. Key Responsibilities Reporting to the Senior Copywriter, the Marketing Communications Specialist undertakes the following RESPONSIBILITIES: Write, review and edit copy for all external-facing assets including lightbox copy, website content, email, social posts, and more Ensure grammar, spelling and tone of voice are accurate and in line with the Lush style guide Conceptualise and present outside-the-box ideas and content for upcoming marketing campaigns Support overarching marketing projects from concept to delivery Research (as needed) to create compelling content or come up with ideas Provide mentorship and guidance for any new or junior team members Work with the Film and Photo team to develop and produce copy for video assets Generate original, creative, clear and persuasive stories, either in conjunction with others or independently Proofread content written by other team members and external contributors to ensure they're engaging, error-free and on-brand Develop concepts in line with the strategic goals outlined in creative briefs and in collaboration with other team members Champion high creative standards and contribute actively to visual and copy brainstorming sessions Work with the Creative team to ensure all copy in layouts is accurate prior to release. Adhere to tight deadlines and implement last-minute changes as needed while consistently meeting Lush brand standards. Proactively seek out information or communicate with internal teams as needed Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Required: A Bachelor's Degree in English, Communications, Creative Writing, Journalism, Marketing or related experience. 3 years of agency or in-house writing experience. Exceptional communications skills, both written and verbal. Demonstrated skill in developing and executing creative concepts. Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop other team members. Experience developing film and video assets, including participation in scriptwriting, casting, editing, sound design, and voiceover direction and recording. Experience in writing advertising (digital and print), brand messaging, web copy, and other marketing collateral. Proficiency writing for print, as well as web copy with an understanding of search engine optimization (SEO) best practices. Experience with the creation of marketing materials from concept to production. Ability to effectively manage time and establish clear objectives and day-to-day priorities in a fast-paced work environment. A thorough, accurate and consistent work practice with an acute attention to detail. An energetic, enthusiastic, motivated and open-minded attitude. Preferred Experience working as part of an in-house copy team in an office environment. Experience writing longer editorial pieces, as well as conducting interviews for stories.
