Exercise Physiologist for cardiac rehabilitation service

Here at Mid and south Essex foundation Trust we have an exciting opportunity, we are looking for an Exercise physiologist for our Cardiac Rehabilitation service to join our team
In this Role you you deliver high quality cardiac rehabilitation exercise programmes for patients with a wide range of cardiovascular conditions through formal cardiac rehabilitation classes based in hospital, in the community and virtually.
Contribute to assessing and advising patients following cardiac event including assessment of risk factors and appropriate advice on lifestyle change and provision of information on any test or treatments that are planned.

Main duties of the job
You will deliver exercise based cardiac rehabilitation sessions in line with current BACPR/AACPVR guidelines in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
Manage a caseload and work within relevant codes of practice at all times
Deliver exercise classes and functional assessment of all patients referred to the CR service as suited by their clinical condition (strength and balance, high intensity, resistance training etc).
Deliver education sessions during the CR course on physical activity and 'getting back to normal' after a cardiac event
Provide telephone advice during phase 2 of cardiac rehabilitation on recovery and exercise.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* degree in exercise science, biology or related discipline
* BACPR phase IV instructor
Experience
* experience of delivering physical activity/ exercise advice to a wide clinical population s
* experience of working in cardiac rehabilitation
Knowledge
* sound knowledge of relevant exercise testing and prescription guidelines
* ability to lead a cardiac rehabilitation exercise class
