About ARU:

ARU is a global university transforming lives through innovative, inclusive and entrepreneurial education and research. ARU holds a Gold award for the quality of its education, awarded through the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).

ARU’s research institutes and four faculties bridge scientific, technical and creative fields. We deliver impactful research which tackles pressing issues and makes a real difference to our communities. Our academic excellence has been recognised by the UK’s Higher Education funding bodies, with 16 of our research areas assessed as world leading. We are the largest provider of Nursing, Midwifery, Health and Social Care students in the East of England, and we are also among the UK’s leading universities for degree apprenticeship provision, working with hundreds of employers across the UK.

At our ARU Writtle campus, we specialise in animal, environmental, agricultural and horticultural courses, for learners aged 16 to 18, adult learners, undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

About the Role:

We have an exciting opportunity to contribute as part of a dynamic team of staff delivering to a growing number of Further Education students across a range of animal courses within the Further Education animal studies department. Within this varied role, you will be required to teach theory and practical sessions to students on full and part‑time courses in Further Education.

Ideally, you will have in‑depth knowledge that can be applied across various aspects of animal management, including animal health, behaviour, husbandry, wildlife and welfare. It would be an advantage if you have either experience within a similar role previously or in industry with up‑to‑date technical knowledge.

To be successful, you will have experience of lecturing and be in possession of level 2 GCSE English and Maths or equivalent, a vocational qualification at NVQ level 4 or equivalent and an appropriate endorsed Teaching Qualification (or be required to commence studies within 1 year of employment).
