As a Food & Beverage Supervisor at Milford Hall Salisbury (soon to be voco), you’ll oversee daily operations across restaurant, bar, and event spaces, ensuring service runs smoothly and to the highest standard. You’ll support and develop the F&B team, uphold quality and safety standards, and create memorable dining experiences for every guest. Objectives of this role: Lead and supervise F&B operations to ensure exceptional service delivery. Support, train, and mentor team members across bar, restaurant, and events. Maintain compliance with food hygiene, health, and safety standards. Manage stock, ordering, and cost controls to optimise efficiency and revenue. Respond to guest feedback with professionalism, turning challenges into opportunities. Key Responsibilities People Supervise F&B staff during service, providing clear direction and support. Train, coach, and mentor team members to develop skills and confidence. Lead team briefings to share priorities, promotions, and service standards. Handle guest concerns or feedback calmly and professionally. Foster a positive, team-focused environment where staff feel motivated and supported. Represent Brightstar’s values in every guest and colleague interaction. Quality Ensure food and drinks are served to brand and presentation standards. Maintain a clean, hygienic, and safe environment across all F&B outlets. Monitor food safety and HACCP procedures, ensuring compliance at all times. Support menu development, promotions, and seasonal offerings in collaboration with chefs and managers. Conduct regular checks to ensure service areas are guest-ready at all times. Maintain clear communication between kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth operations. Profit Manage stock control, ordering, and supplier communication. Reduce waste through efficient portioning and careful monitoring. Drive upselling and promotions to maximise revenue. Ensure accurate cash handling and till reconciliation. Support departmental financial goals by controlling costs and improving efficiency. Assist in planning and delivering events that support hotel profitability. Responsible Business Comply with food safety legislation, licensing, and company policies. Promote sustainable practices, including waste reduction and recycling. Report and address maintenance or safety issues promptly. Protect guest confidentiality and handle data responsibly. Treat all team members and guests with fairness and respect. Comply with all company policies, procedures, and operational standards including any hotel-specific brand standards. Complete all E-learning and mandatory training within required timeframes. Skills and Qualifications Previous experience in an F&B supervisory role (restaurant, bar, or events). (Preferred) Strong knowledge of food and beverage service standards. Good understanding of food safety, HACCP, and licensing regulations. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Organised, proactive, and confident in decision-making. Able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays. Comfortable handling guest concerns professionally and effectively. Familiarity with stock control systems, POS, and ordering processes.
