Position: Fatigue & Damage Tolerance (F&DT) Engineer - Airframe TeamLocation: Filton, BristolEmployment Type: Permanent Staff
Belcan Engineering is seeking a skilled F&DT Engineer to join our Airframe business unit.
Candidates with Aircraft Repair experience would be most welcome to apply.
The successful candidate will be proficient in one or more of the following engineering toolsets:
Preferred Toolsets
1. HyperWorks
2. ISAMI
3. Mathcad
4. NASTRAN
5. PATRAN
6. Python scripting
Required Technical Skills
7. Strong foundation in hand analysis methods, with the ability to apply and adapt a wide range of calculation techniques to real-world scenarios, supported by technical documentation.
8. Experience with Finite Element (FE) techniques.
9. Proficiency in coding and macro development.
Desirable Experience
10. Aerospace structural engineering
11. Familiarity with Airbus and BAE Systems methods and processes
Candidate Profile
We're looking for someone with prior experience in F&DT Stress Analysis in Aircraft Structures, capable of performing technical tasks and contributing to process improvement initiatives. You should be comfortable solving complex engineering problems independently, with minimal supervision. The role demands a strong focus on technical delivery, quality, and the ability to balance engineering responsibilities with commercial and project time lines.

12. Liaise with customer technical focal points as needed.
13. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, presenting technical issues and proposing solutions.

14. Ensure on-time, on-budget delivery aligned with customer expectations.
15. Comply with Belcan's Quality Management System (QMS).
Commercial Awareness
16. Identify opportunities for cost savings for both Belcan and its customers.
17. Recognise and manage change, articulating its impact clearly.
