Vickerstock are delighted to be partnering with our Food Manufacturing client committed to quality and integrity within all operations on the appointment of Quality Assurance Manager. They supply into the chilled and frozen retail, food service and food manufacturing sectors from their production base in Lurgan.
Reporting to the Technical Manager you will work within a busy department and help ensure all products meet customer expectations and that Food Safety is maintained.
What your day-to-day will look like:
1. Maintain the Quality Manual and systems to the required BRC standard
2. Liaise with customers and suppliers regarding any quality or food safety issues
3. Liaise with the supply base to ensure compliance with supplier approval criteria
4. Supervise and manage the QA staff and Hygiene staff
5. Ensure that all QA records are completed, recorded and filed accurately
6. Work with the Production Manager and Supervisors ensuring that all production activities meet the required standards
7. Work with the Management Team to ensure technical audits are managed effectively
8. Understand the role of the Technical Manager and be able to deputise
9. Display a proactive approach to quality improvement initiatives
10. Have an active role within the HACCP team, including updating risk assessments, hazard analysis and product flows
11. Collect samples and to analyse microbiological results
12. Dealing with customer complaints in a timely manner
13. Manage the equipment calibration schedule
14. Deal with day-to-day quality issues and to resolve anomalies
15. Ensure all corrective actions are implemented and monitored
What you will need to succeed:
16. Clean UK/EU driving license
17. Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience working in Quality / Technical role.
18. Third level qualification Degree or HNC/D in a relevant food related discipline
19. Ability to effectively plan and organise to meet deadlines.
20. Strong IT skills and an ability to record and present information in a concise format.
21. The ability to work well under pressure and to play your role in a busy team environment.
22. Excellent communicator with positive leadership skills
