St Teresas Hospice, Darlington is seeking a Coordinator to develop, set upand deliver the activities of the new Darlington Volunteering for Health Hub.

Darlington Volunteers is a funded partnership between Citizens AdviceDarlington, Redcar and Cleveland, Darlington Association on Disability, StTeresas Hospice and County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust Charity.

Basedat St Teresas Hospice, you will work with Darlington Volunteers partners andother local organisations to develop and deliver an inclusive, contemporary,clear and supportive pathway to volunteering within health and social care inDarlington.

Location: St Teresas Hospice, The Woodlands,Woodland Road, Darlington, DL3 7UA.

Hours: 22.5hours per week, over 3 days Monday to Friday. As the project develops, you mayneed to work flexibly to meet the needs of the hub and its users, which mayinclude some evening and/or weekend work.

Fixed Term ContractDuration: up to 30 June 2027.

St Teresas HospiceBand 3: £14,429.40- £14,985.00 per annum actual for 22.5 hours per week (based on a full-timeequivalent salary range of £24,049 - £24,975 per annum).

Successfulapplicants are required to provide a basic disclosure. Disclosure expense willbe met by St Teresas Hospice. All posts are subject to a six-monthprobationary period.


Main duties of the job

This role will contributeto developing infrastructure to maximise the potential of volunteering withinthe local health and social care sector, including support with recruitment,selection and compliance checks and centralised induction via a newvolunteering hub.

You will work with localorganisations supporting and engaging volunteers, and with people looking tovolunteer in health and social care in the local area, including prospectivevolunteers for St Teresas Hospice, for the other core Darlington Volunteerspartners, and for other local partner organisations.

Your employer willbe Teresas Hospice, a forward thinking, inclusive registered Charity withInpatient, Outpatient and Hospice at Home services, providing care and supportto palliative patients and their families in their own homes and at St TeresasHospice.

Essential skills and experience include:

* Experienceof working directly with the general public, and/or volunteers or prospectivevolunteers
* Experienceof working in an administrative role, and maintaining confidentialrecord-keeping systems
* Understandingof equality and diversity legislation and best practice including Equality Act2010
* Excellentcommunication and interpersonal skills

Darlington Volunteers is a funded partnership between lead partner Citizens Advice Darlington,Redcar and Cleveland (CADRC), Darlington Association on Disability (DAD), St Teresas Hospice andCounty Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust Charity.

The main aims of the partnership areto:

* use co-production and support to minimise barriers and increase volunteer voice
* develop, build and grow NHS Charities County Durham and Darlington Hospital DischargeProgramme.

Darlington Volunteers is funded as part of the national Volunteering for Health programme that isbeing delivered in partnership by NHS England, NHS Charities Together and CW+, the official charityof Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

It is being designed to deliver the recommendations of the NHS Volunteering Taskforce published inJune 2023. It will deliver grant funding to around 15 local systems (including Darlington Volunteers)to develop robust volunteering infrastructure, break down barriers and test new volunteering.

Volunteering for Health will also use learning from grant-funded systems to increase understandingof the impact of volunteering on healthcare delivery, influence national and local policy making, anddevelop guidance and best practice for all systems.

Person Specification


Qualifications

* Level 3 or higher qualification in Human Resources
* Qualification in volunteer management or other relevant subject


Experience

* Working directly with the general public, and/or volunteers or prospective volunteers
* Working in an administrative role and maintaining confidential record-keeping systems
* Conducting workforce compliance checks (e.g. referencing, DBS, right to work)
* Working in a charity or other not for profit setting
* Recruitment advertising for paid or voluntary roles
* Working within an HR or volunteering team
* Co-production with service users and stakeholders


Knowledge

* Understanding of Data Protection legislation including GDPR
* Understanding of equality and diversity legislation and best practice including Equality Act 2010
* Knowledge of local area and voluntary sector organisations


Disclosure and Barring Service Check
