Commercial Research Delivery Lead

As part of our strategic ambition to become a centre of excellence for research, the post holder will work as a specialist research practitioner, leading the development and management of a substantial commercial research portfolio. Acting as a key research liaison partner, they will collaborate closely with senior research nurses, AHPs, and practitioners to ensure high quality delivery and governance of commercial research activity.

The role involves working with internal teams, external partners, and wider strategic stakeholders to build strong relationships that enhance the organisation's capacity for, and engagement in, community based commercial research. The post holder will work across clinical specialisms and services to support growth, innovation, and excellence in research within the community setting.


Main duties of the job

The post holder will ensure that participant care, treatment, assessment, follow-up and data collection are co-ordinated according to the appropriate research protocols and regulatory framework. They will provide professional support and leadership for all colleagues involved in research, promoting continued growth in research activity and translation of findings into practice. They will also support the engagement of patients and carers in research.

The post holder will support their teams to identify studies appropriate for our services, to deliver and manage these trials, and the ongoing care of patients and participants. The post holder will work as part of a Research team alongside Research Nurses and Allied Health Professionals (AHP) and other key stakeholders but also closely with clinical departments.

The role includes working autonomously in a variety of settings.

Across Hampshire, our community hospitals provide inpatient rehabilitation as a step down from acute care, and our dedicated teams also staff Treetops Sexual Assault Referral Centre in Portsmouth, offering expert, compassionate support.

Person Specification


Qualifications

* Masters degree, or equivalent experience and professional knowledge
* Certified in Clinical research ICH GCP
* Current professional registration, for example RN/AHP
* Phlebotomy / Canulation certified


Experience

* Masters degree, or equivalent experience and professional knowledge

* Experience of training and supervision of junior staff and clinical colleagues
* Infusion medicine/infusion therapy


Additional Criteria

* Able to use advanced software to collect data, create reports and manage data and use a range of IT programmes including web applications and MS Office applications
* Ability to meet tight deadlines and cope in a highly demanding environment
* Able to develop and improve own competence in structured ways
* Excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills
* Personal drive and initiative
* Ability to lead and motivate others and work to high standards in challenging intellectual situations

* Professional clinical knowledge acquired through significant post registration experience in the specialty, with experience at a level requiring supervision of other qualified allied health professionals/nurse
* Knowledge of, and experience of applying, the Research Governance Framework for Health and Social Care, and of clinical trial regulatory and ethics processes
* Demonstrates a clear understanding of advanced highly specialised theoretical and practical clinical and research skills in the specialty beyond the normal scope of practice
* Advanced skills in administration and project management
* Leadership skills with evidence of the ability to lead and support junior staff
* Skills required to evaluate and assist in developing new protocols and audit tools
* Understanding of career/ working options for those wanting to get involved in research
