This is a great opportunity for an Intellectual Property Lawyer as a Senior Legal Counsel within Sky's UK Litigation, Anti-Piracy and Intellectual Property team, supporting across all business areas.

We manage Sky's trademarks, brands, patents, and designs worldwide, including litigation in courts such as the CJEU, Supreme Court, and Court of Appeal. The role involves collaboration with legal and business colleagues, with potential travel. The team also provides expertise on all IP matters.
The role reports to the Head Counsel of the UK Litigation, Anti-Piracy and IP team based in Osterley.
What you'll do:
* Provide expert analysis, strategic advice, and leadership on IP risks, opportunities, and disputes, proposing creative solutions.
* Advise on the use of Sky's brands and assist with trademark risk assessments.
* Lead complex trademark, opposition, revocation, and invalidity actions globally.
* Manage the trademark portfolio, including applications, oppositions, and renewals worldwide.
* Oversee Sky's patent and design portfolios, coordinating with external lawyers.
* Negotiate and draft IP licenses and contracts, supporting business deals.
* Manage relationships with licensees and handle escalated IP litigation matters.
* Build relationships with legal colleagues and business units.
What you'll bring:
* 5+ years PQE or equivalent experience in a law firm or in-house.
* UK law experience in relevant areas.
* Extensive trademark and passing off experience.
* Experience in IP registry actions across multiple territories.
* Dispute resolution and litigation experience.
* Brand licensing experience.
* Strategic thinking and IP portfolio management skills.
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and drafting skills.
