Role Overview
As a Controllership Accountant - Property, you will combine your technical accounting knowledge with communication and prioritisation skills to ensure a strong control environment and accurate reporting of the Property P&L and Fixed Asset / Lease accounting. Responsibilities include:
1. Accounting for lease and capital areas, managing a £10bn asset register, and providing accounting advice to internal clients.
2. Monthly and annual reporting and forecasting of key asset and property-related lines.
3. Business partnering with various teams across finance and other departments.
4. Managing key control processes such as month-end, quarter-end, reconciliation reviews, and control framework execution.
5. Driving process improvements through digital tools and automation.
6. Involvement in significant property transactions.
7. Line management and coaching of junior colleagues.
Candidate Profile
You should be a qualified accountant with post-qualification experience (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA), capable of managing and prioritising workloads with attention to detail. Additional requirements include:
1. Ability to work independently, manage, and prioritise tasks effectively.
2. Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
3. Proficiency in Excel; experience with SAP and digital analytics tools is desirable.
4. Confidence in stakeholder engagement at all levels.
5. Ability to think laterally and challenge the status quo to improve processes.
6. Experience in coaching junior colleagues.
