Job Description
Manufacturing Team Leader – Nights – £42,500 + OT + Bonus | Food Manufacturing | Bolton
You don’t normally stop to read job ads.
Not properly, anyway.
But something made you pause on this one.
Maybe you’re tired of being the only person on nights who actually knows what’s going on.
Maybe your “Team Leader” title doesn’t match the size of the problems you’re expected to fix.
Maybe your heart rate now spikes every time someone says “audit”.
Or maybe — and let’s be honest — you’ve simply outgrown the place you’re in.
If any of that hits too close to home, keep reading.
This isn’t a babysitting job. It’s proper leadership.
As the Manufacturing Team Leader, you’ll own the night shift for your area — people, performance, safety, standards.
Not just turning up to “keep things running”.
Not filling out paperwork nobody reads.
Not hoping the auditors pick a different department this year.
This is a site that’s actually investing in performance, people and culture — not plastering over cracks.
And they want someone who can lead, challenge, shape, and raise the bar.
What you’ll actually be doing:
* Leading Food Safety & H&S on nights — properly, not performatively
* Keeping your area permanently audit-ready (BRC, Tesco, SML, ERM)
* Driving the KPIs that matter: OEE, GMP, yield, PRN, labour variance
* Turning NPT into development, not wasted time
* Running Daily Team Reviews that aren’t a tick-box exercise
* Developing operators and future leaders — not future problems
* Setting hygiene and GMP standards that don’t rely on crossed fingers
* Working with Engineering, Technical, Planning & Supply Chain as a genuine leader
If you like hiding in an office, this won’t suit you.
If you lead from the front, you’ll thrive.
Who this role suits:
Someone who’s been a Manufacturing Team Leader, Production Team Leader, Area Lead or similar in food/FMCG……and is ready for a role where their influence actually matters.
You don’t need to shout to lead. But you do need confidence, consistency and the ability to challenge nonsense the right way.
IOSH + Food Safety helps.
A backbone helps more.
What you’ll get back:
* £42,500 salary
* Overtime opportunities
* Up to 7% bonus
* 10% pension
* Nights-only consistency
* 22 days holiday + 8 bank holidays
* Cycle-to-work scheme
* Onsite discounted product shop
* Real development: coaching, leadership training, progression
This isn’t a “keep things ticking” role.
It’s one where you help build a top-performing manufacturing department.
If you’ve been carrying your shift for too long…
maybe it’s time to lead somewhere that carries you back.
Drop me a message or hit apply.
Let’s talk about whether this is the move you’ve been avoiding — but probably need.
