Finance Director – Private Energy Partners

Let’s Build the Future of Energy — Together

At Private Energy Partners, we’re energy problem solvers. We accelerate the clean energy transition by building bold, meaningful infrastructure that works. We don’t do ego. We do purpose, integrity, and smart ideas that make a real-world difference.

We’re growing — fast. And we’re looking for a Finance Director who’s strategic, hands-on, and ready to help shape the financial future of a purpose-driven business. You’ll work alongside regional teams and senior leaders to guide our global financial performance and support the delivery of high-impact renewable energy projects.

This is more than a finance leadership role. You’ll be part of a dynamic team, building the systems, insights, and partnerships that enable us to scale responsibly — and drive real change in communities and for the planet.

Location: Remote/Hybrid ( 3 days per week in Swindon Office preferred)

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

About Private Energy Partners

Private Energy Partners (PEP) is an affiliate of Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners, established to enhance the Quinbrook Group’s capabilities in project origination, development, asset management, and revenue optimisation.

With a presence across the UK, US, and Australia, PEP focuses on three core areas:

1. Utility‑scale renewables (solar & battery storage)

2. Distributed energy solutions & community energy networks

Our team brings over 40 years’ experience in the power sector, developing approximately 700 MW of renewable capacity and deploying ~$3.3 billion in capital. Our projects have prevented more than 1.75 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually, supported around 2,800 jobs, and continue to underpin Quinbrook’s infrastructure portfolio.

We manage every stage of project delivery—from site acquisition and permitting through to EPC procurement, operations, and optimisation—bridging cutting-edge technologies with proven development and financial rigour.

Role Summary

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Finance Director to lead and evolve the global finance function at PEP. Reporting to the CFO, you will oversee financial control, reporting, budgeting, governance, and cash management for both the PEP Group and operating assets under management by Quinbrook funds.

You’ll guide regional finance teams, streamline processes, drive insights that inform decision-making, and help build a finance function that supports growth across borders and asset classes.

This is a high-impact leadership role in a fast-growing business committed to sustainability, innovation, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead a robust global reporting framework with accurate, timely delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts.
* Drive standardisation across dashboards, KPIs, and board reporting materials.
* Maintain tight cashflow oversight and manage CapEx forecasting for both Group and Fund assets.
* Ensure compliance with audit and tax obligations across jurisdictions.

Budgeting & Forecasting

* Lead budgeting and multi-year forecasting across all regions and assets.
* Align assumptions and timelines to ensure data consistency and actionable insight.
* Provide scenario planning and strategic financial analysis to support funding and investment decisions.

Regional Team Leadership

* Manage and mentor finance teams in Australia, the UK, and the US.
* Equip teams with tools, systems, and training to operate effectively and independently.
* Promote knowledge-sharing and consistency to build a unified, high-performing finance function.

Project & Asset Oversight

* Monitor financial performance and governance for operating and development assets.
* Track project spend vs. budget, manage FX risks, and ensure accurate cost-to-completion visibility.
* Support funding milestones, CapEx controls, and commercial alignment.

Strategic Finance & Partnering

* Provide financial insight to support business cases, commercial reviews, and contract negotiations.
* Support financial due diligence across projects, suppliers, and platforms.
* Help shape and implement ERP and financial systems across the business.

Cash Management & Audit

* Lead liquidity planning and cash flow forecasting at Group and Fund level.
* Oversee external audit processes and ensure tax compliance across multiple regions.
* Maintain and enhance internal controls, policies, and risk frameworks.

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications & Experience

* Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
* 10+ years in senior finance roles, ideally in infrastructure, energy, or private equity.
* International finance experience with multi-entity, cross-border operations.
* Strong knowledge of GAAP (UK, US, AUS) and transfer pricing regulations.

Skills & Attributes

* Strong financial modelling, budgeting, and leadership skills.
* Deep understanding of ERP systems and scalable reporting frameworks.
* Hands-on leader with the ability to switch between strategic and tactical work.
* Clear communicator with a collaborative, team-first mindset.
* Highly organised, deadline-driven, and detail-oriented.
* Commercially astute with strong analytical capabilities.

Living Our GROW Values

* Grow Together – Foster collaboration and shared success.
* Responsibility for Impact – Take ownership and uphold high standards.
* Original Thinking – Bring bold, practical solutions to the table.
* Walk with Integrity – Do the right thing, even when it’s hard.
* Competitive salary + annual bonus
* 7% company pension contribution
* Private medical and dental insurance
* Hybrid working flexibility
* Plus additional benefits as we grow
