Causeway Green Primary School – Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)

Responsibilities
* Lead on all safeguarding and child protection matters, ensuring compliance with statutory guidance (e.g. Keeping Children Safe in Education)
* Act as the main point of contact for safeguarding concerns, liaising with external agencies where appropriate
* Provide advice, support and training to staff to foster a strong safeguarding culture
* Maintain accurate, confidential, up‑to‑date safeguarding records
* Work closely with the senior leadership team to promote the wellbeing and safety of all pupils
Qualifications and Experience
* Substantial experience in safeguarding within an educational setting
* Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
Committed to the highest standards of child protection and welfare
* Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents and external agencies
Requirements
* Enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and Pre‑employment checks in line with KCSIE
* Fluency in spoken and written English
* Must be eligible for a Children’s Barring List Check; barred individuals will be disqualified
* Compliance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016)
Working Conditions
* Hours: 37 hours per week (Permanent)
* Salary: £37,280 – £41,771 (Grade F, SCP 26‑31)
* Location: 46 Penncricket Ln, Oldbury B68 8LX
* Job Start Date: Monday 2nd November 2026
