Energy and Climate Advice Officer - Ref: EE04825 G5: £26,409 - £30,060 pro rata to hours worked. This is a part-time, fixed term post working 3 days per week until 31st March 2027. We are looking for a passionate and community-focused Energy and Climate Advisor to lead the delivery of the Walsall Energy Action Project (WEAP) from the Bloxwich Launchpad. This is an exciting opportunity to support residents in reducing their energy bills and carbon footprint through practical advice, workshops, and community engagement. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of household energy efficiency and climate issues. It will suit someone who enjoys working directly with residents and community organisations and has a desire to make a lasting impact. About the job: As a Energy and Climate Advisor, you will be at the heart of a National Lottery Community Fund project delivered in partnership with Walsall Council and local voluntary and community organisations (VCOs). The project aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and tackle fuel poverty by offering energy and climate advice to residents. You will be based at the Bloxwich Launchpad, where you will: Deliver one-to-one and group energy advice sessions to residents Organise and lead workshops on creating energy-saving kits Coordinate with VCOs to arrange household energy and climate advice visits Monitor project activities and outcomes in line with council and funder requirements Contribute to the development and promotion of energy and climate advice resources You’ll also play a key role in reporting progress to the project funder and external evaluator, ensuring the project is impactful and aligned with wider sustainability goals. About you: You’ll bring: Experience providing advice in a public-facing role, ideally within the voluntary sector, local authority, or health services A strong knowledge of household energy efficiency, renewable energy, and climate change issues Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of audiences Confidence in delivering both one-to-one and group sessions Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and data recording tools A collaborative approach and a commitment to inclusivity, transparency, and ethical working You’ll be proactive, approachable, and motivated by the opportunity to help residents take meaningful climate action while improving their quality of life.
