Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Real Estate and Rural Land Management
Location: Cirencester, GL7 6JS
Salary: Lecturer (Grade 8: GBP 38,784 – GBP 46,049 per year) or Senior Lecturer (Grade 9: GBP 44,746 – GBP 56,535 per year), dependent upon experience. Part-time pro rata for 17.5 hours per week (0.4 or 0.5 FTE).

Overview
The Royal Agricultural University (RAU) is seeking experienced Commercial and Rural Surveyors to join the Land and Property team. This role supports undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Land and Property, including RICS-accredited degrees in Rural Land Management and Real Estate. The successful candidate will teach on Rural Land Management and Real Estate programmes at the Cirencester Campus, bridging industry and academia with practice-led teaching and real-world examples.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality teaching on Rural Land Management and Real Estate programmes, contributing to curriculum development and student assessment.
* Engage with industry and professional practice in the UK to ensure relevance and impact of teaching.
* Contribute to the delivery of RICS-accredited programmes and maintain appropriate professional standards.
* Support student learning, careers, and employability, including supervision of projects and placements where applicable.
* Participate in programme governance, quality assurance, and collegial activities within the Land and Property team.
Qualifications
* Chartered Surveyor with MRICS, FRICS, or AssocRICS status, or eligible to become a member of RICS to enable practice-led teaching.
* Relevant UK professional practice experience in valuation, compulsory purchase, or commercial/real estate.
* For part-time appointment: open to Chartered Surveyors currently practicing, returning from a career break, or recently retired who wish to share industry knowledge.
