A fantastic Special Needs School in Chippenham are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Autism Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as next week. In this role, you will work closely with one child who has a primary diagnosis of Autism, as well as other associated additional needs. This is an excellent opportunity for a Psychology Graduate or Teaching Assistant/Carer looking to further their experience with SEND.
Responsibilities
* As a 1:1 Autism Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the student, helping them engage in classroom activities and develop their independence.
* You will help the student build positive relationships with other pupils, and aid them with both their verbal and non-verbal communication.
* You may also assist the class teacher and offer additional support to other pupils when needed.
Requirements
* Around-the-role fit: Enthusiastic and bubbly 1:1 Autism Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
* Educated to a relevant degree (e.g., Psychology, Criminology or Sociology). A recent graduate is ideal.
* Experience working with Autism would be beneficial (professional or personal).
* Empathy and flexibility are important skills.
* Full-time availability, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:15pm.
