Responsibilities
* Complete all required documentation and route to appropriate manager/supervisor. Interface with customers, clients, internal managers, and vendors. Work under limited supervision, make decisions based on expertise, knowledge, and coordination with management. Follow well-defined procedures but have the authority to deviate if the technical situation warrants. Train and guide Start-Up Technicians to enhance their skills.
* Perform start-up and functionality checks on newly installed HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. Ensure equipment operates per specifications and complies with city and trade codes. Collaborate with subcontractors or vendors to ensure proper operation.
* Interpret drawings, identify errors or omissions, and advise supervisors.
* Install, connect, or adjust thermostats, sensors, controllers, and related mechanical parts as per plans.
* Disassemble and reassemble mechanical and plumbing equipment for troubleshooting and maintenance. Ensure equipment is level and aligned.
* Explain work performed to customers, and assist in startup and commissioning of building automation and refrigeration systems.
* Install controls to ensure proper operation of equipment and systems.
* Diagnose performance issues in HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, or electrical systems through testing and observation.
* Complete documentation accurately and timely for invoicing and EPA compliance.
* Read and interpret plans, blueprints, and technical manuals related to energy management and refrigerant leak systems.
* Manage truck inventory and adhere to vehicle maintenance guidelines.
* Handle multiple priorities effectively and lead projects when necessary.
Qualifications
Education: High School diploma or equivalent, or 10 years of related experience. A technical degree is preferred.
Experience: Minimum 2 years with HS/GED; no experience required with a technical degree.
Additional Requirements:
* EPA 608 Certification Level 3
* Valid driver’s license with a safe record
* Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and lift up to 50 pounds
* Excellent communication skills, detail-oriented, highly motivated
* Mechanical aptitude
* Availability to work nights, weekends, and travel
* Strong organizational and project management skills
* Professional demeanor and customer focus
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
