Our studio is located in a river-front building in the heart of the Historic Dockyard in Chatham, Kent, UK. We are rapidly growing, developing games using cutting-edge technology for multiple platforms: PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Series S/X.
Position: UI Artist
We are seeking a UI Artist to help shape user interfaces within our Unreal Engine simulations. You will collaborate closely with UI Engineers to design, create, and implement game menu systems and overlays for in-game features. The ideal candidate will have experience in UI design within the video games or interactive website industries, with good technical skills, knowledge of Unreal Editor, and excellent attention to detail.
Providing an up-to-date portfolio is essential for this role.
Main Responsibilities
1. Creating visualizations of screens within a prototype framework
2. Identifying design problems and devising solutions
3. Presenting ideas and designs to stakeholders and incorporating feedback
4. Collaborating with UX designers to incorporate user accessibility
5. Working with UI engineers to provide art assets and conducting visual design reviews
6. Iterating on design implementations for optimal user experience
7. Maintaining UI design libraries
8. Collaborating on product visuals and user experience solutions
9. Establishing and promoting design guidelines and standards
10. Designing and maintaining high-fidelity assets for consumer use
11. Implementing UI assets into Unreal Editor
Person Specifications
1. Minimum 3 years of experience as a UI Artist
2. Strong graphic and information design skills
3. Understanding of User Experience (UX)
4. Knowledge of technical limitations
5. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
6. Proficiency with Figma
7. Experience with motion graphics design/prototyping (After Effects, Animate CC, etc.) beneficial
8. Strong usability design experience
9. Knowledge of UE 4 & 5 Blueprints (desirable)
10. Experience in the games industry (beneficial)
11. Creative and practical problem-solving skills
12. Resourceful, self-motivated, and organized
