Monarch Education is seeking to appoint a dedicated and experienced HLTA ( Higher Level Teaching Assistant) to join a primary school in Clevedon. This is a part-time position (2 days a week) required to start in September 2025. The school is looking for a versatile and compassionate HLTA with teaching experience across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. The successful applicant will be teaching pre-planned work to pupils across Key Stage one and Key Stage two, to cover PPA time. This role will be paid to scale for qualified teachers with QTS with a daily rate of up to £223. About the Role: As a Part-Time HLTA, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. A significant part of your role will involve delivering lessons to cover permanent staff's Planning Preparation and Assessment time (PPA). Your responsibilities will include: Classroom Support: Delivering a variety of lessons across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Assisting with classroom organisation, preparing resources, and maintaining a positive learning environment. Supporting other staff with managing classroom behaviour. Supporting Learning and Development: Supporting pupils' engagement in learning activities, encouraging independence and participation. Helping pupils overcome barriers to learning. Providing emotional support and promoting positive social interactions among pupils. Collaboration and Communication: Working effectively as part of the school team, collaborating with teachers, the SENDCo, and other support staff. Communicating relevant information about pupil progress and well-being to the class teacher and SENDCo. Potentially liaising with parents/carers under the direction of the class teacher or SENDCo. Candidate Profile: We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Higher Level Teaching Assistant with experience in a primary school setting and a strong understanding of supporting pupils of all ages. The ideal candidate will possess: Experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school, ideally across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Proven experience and understanding of teaching small groups of children A patient, nurturing, and understanding approach to working with children. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers. The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Resilience and the ability to adapt to different classroom environments and pupil needs. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Availability to work Wednesdays and Thursdays during term time. Qualifications: Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g., Level 3) or demonstrable equivalent experience is highly desirable. Newly trained teacher with a completed PGCE in Primary Education Training or professional development related to supporting pupils with specific SEND is advantageous.
