M&E 2D AutoCAD Technician – CAT B Fit Out (Central London) Up to £45,000 travel 2–3 days hybrid working Permanent position James Lewis are assisting a well-established, design and build building services contractor in the appointment of an M&E 2D AutoCAD Technician to support the delivery of fast-track CAT B commercial fit out projects across Central London, typically up to £1.5m in value. This is a practical, deadline-driven role suited to someone who’s comfortable working across multiple live jobs, producing clear, accurate drawings and supporting site teams through coordination, changes, and as-builts. The Role As the M&E 2D AutoCAD Technician, you will support delivery teams with the production and control of mechanical and electrical drawings, including: * Producing and updating 2D AutoCAD drawings for M&E services (layouts, schematics, builderswork/setting out as required) * Converting mark-ups/redlines into coordinated drawing updates for issue * Maintaining drawing standards, layers, title blocks and revision control * Supporting as-built production and handover drawing packages * Coordinating with Project Engineers/Managers, supervisors and supply chain to capture site changes quickly * Managing drawing registers, issue sheets and document control expectations * Attending internal coordination sessions and assisting with drawing clashes/interfaces where required * Working to fast-track programmes while keeping quality and accuracy high Experience and Qualifications To be considered, you should have: * Strong 2D AutoCAD capability with a proven background in M&E building services * Experience supporting UK commercial fit out projects (CAT A/B exposure ideal) * Good working knowledge of typical building services systems and how they’re installed on site * Ability to interpret specifications, GA drawings, and consultant information, then translate into buildable drawings * A methodical approach to revision control, drawing issue processes and document quality * Clear communication skills and confidence working with delivery teams under time pressure Remuneration * Up to £45,000 (dependent on experience) * Travel * 2–3 days hybrid working * No additional perks Shortlisting is underway, so please apply quickly to avoid missing out
