About This Role
This position is the General Manager of the UK region, responsible for overseeing and managing the overall warehouse operations and team development within the region. The role ensures compliance, efficiency, and sustainable growth of the business. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in managing cross-border e-commerce or overseas warehouse operations, strong bilingual communication skills in Mandarin and English, and established local business connections. You will lead the team to achieve company goals while continuously driving operational excellence and business development.
Key Responsibilities
* Implement Headquarters Strategy & Set UK Regional Direction: Translate the Group’s strategic objectives and annual goals into actionable plans for the UK region, ensuring alignment with overall company direction and achievement of regional targets.
* Regional Operations & Financial Management: Prepare and submit the UK region’s annual expense and investment plans based on the Group’s budget, monitor regional revenue and cost structures, and drive business growth while maintaining prudent cost control.
* Regional Network & Capacity Planning: Lead the UK warehouse network planning, including expansion of new warehouses, lease terminations, and capacity adjustments, ensuring that warehouse resources are aligned with business needs and market development.
* Operational Quality Supervision & Improvement: Monitor operational KPIs across all UK warehouses, drive efficiency improvements and service quality optimisation, and enhance overall regional operational performance.
* Process & System Development: Promote optimisation and standardisation of UK regional operations, develop and implement SOPs for inbound, outbound, and inventory management, and advance 6S (Safety, Health, and Environmental) and visual management practices to strengthen regional management and execution.
* Cross-Department Coordination & Information Communication: Act as the bridge between the UK region, headquarters, and other regions, ensuring timely and accurate communication and implementation of company policies, systems, and information.
* Organisational Structure & Team Development: Build and maintain the UK regional organisational structure, lead team development and talent pipeline, implement performance appraisal systems, and develop a high-performing, professional regional team.
* Policy Research & Compliance Assurance: Stay informed of the latest tax, customs, and regulatory policies in the UK and Europe to ensure all regional warehouses operate legally and compliantly, minimising policy-related risks.
* External Relations & Government Liaison: Establish and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, industry associations, and logistics service providers to secure external support and resources.
* Risk Management & Crisis Handling: Oversee and mitigate warehouse operational risks, including workplace safety, labour risks, and other risks affecting sustainable operations; provide guidance on incident handling and resolution strategies.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in Logistics Management, International Trade, or related fields.
* Proficiency in both English and Mandarin (spoken and written), as daily communication with the China headquarters is required.
* Must have valid work and residence eligibility in the UK.
* Minimum of 5 years in independently managing cross-border e-commerce or overseas warehouse operations at a country or regional level.
* Strong business acumen with the ability to source and lease warehouses, participate in large-scale equipment procurement, negotiate with suppliers, and maintain strong connections with local authorities and industry associations to stay updated on industry and regional trends.
* Solid understanding of overseas warehouse operations, company business models and distribution channels. Familiar with warehouse management principles and KPIs, capable of monitoring and adjusting performance. Knowledgeable in local regulations and policies to ensure compliant operations.
