Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in London for an Ophthalmic Scrub Nurse. The role involves supporting and advocating for patients throughout their surgical journey. Responsibilities include assisting in all ophthalmic surgical procedures, preparing and maintaining the operating theatre and surgical instruments, adhering to strict infection control standards, and coordinating with the surgical team to ensure the highest quality care. The Ophthalmic Scrub Nurse will also contribute to maintaining a safe and efficient theatre environment and ensure compliance with safety protocols and clinic policies.
Qualifications
* Proficiency in preparing and assisting with ophthalmic procedures, including laser eye surgery and cataract surgery
* Experience in surgical instrument handling, theatre preparation, and maintaining sterile environments
* Ability to follow infection control protocols and implement patient care standards
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with the surgical team and provide patient support
* A professional nursing qualification with valid NMC registration
* Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to stay calm in high-pressure situations
* Prior experience in an ophthalmic or surgical nursing role is an advantage
Salary: £47,000.00 per year
