Electrical Maintenance Technician
The Electrical Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and plant machinery within the facility. The role will also include basic mechanical maintenance where appropriate. All work must be carried out safely, competently, and in compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
* Service, repair, and maintain all facility electrical and mechanical plant equipment, including plant electrical systems.
* Perform diagnostics using manufacturer documentation, schematics, and software to identify and resolve faults.
* Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability.
* Advise line management of potential plant problems and recommend solutions.
* Provide training and guidance to less experienced maintenance staff and support knowledge sharing across the team.
* Maintain departmental records, technical documentation, and maintenance logs as required.
* Identify and source spare parts, components, and external services needed for maintenance tasks.
* Contribute to projects that improve production reliability and efficiency.
* Write and maintain technical documentation, including risk assessments, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and maintenance reports.
Quality Responsibilities
* Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and API Q1 standards, maintaining accurate work data and following established procedures.
* Ensure all equipment is maintained to the required standards.
* Work to IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, BS 2391 Inspection & Testing, or equivalent standards.
* Hold CompEx certification or be willing to undertake training and become certified.
* Health & Safety Responsibilities
* Comply with company Health & Safety standards and procedures at all times.
* Identify, report, and assist in resolving any HSE-related electrical issues.
* Ensure the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) for all tasks performed.
Skills & Experience Required
* Time-served electrical maintenance background with strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
* Experience working with plant and facility electrical systems; some mechanical knowledge is beneficial.
* Familiarity with ISO, API, and electrical safety standards.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to provide training and support to others.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving skills
