The Opportunity
A leading engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to join their team in Warrington. This role offers the chance to work on technically challenging projects, producing high-quality design outputs from concept through to manufacture.
We would also welcome applications from those with experience in defence, oil and gas, process engineering, energy, or heavy industrial sectors.
This role would suit candidates currently working as Mechanical Designer, Senior Designer, CAD Designer, Design Draughtsperson, Piping Designer, Plant Layout Designer, Mechanical Draughtsman, Design Engineer, CAD Engineer, or Layout Engineer.
Your duties and responsibilities will be
Create and develop 2D and 3D design drawings from initial concepts through to detailed manufacturing documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
Check and verify design deliverables for accuracy and quality, and review colleagues’ work to maintain high standards.
Deliver mechanical design packages, reporting progress to senior engineering leads.
Produce detailed layouts, general arrangements, and manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD, with familiarity in Inventor Vault.
Update and modify existing designs as projects progress through testing and production phases.You will have the following qualifications and experience
HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline.
Strong proficiency in Autodesk tools including AutoCAD and Inventor, with knowledge of 3D modelling systems.
Familiarity with engineering drawing standards such as BS 8888.
Experience working within highly regulated industries, ensuring compliance with strict procedures.
Ability to work effectively within structured design processes and quality frameworks.Get in touch now
