We are looking for a dedicated Medical Secretary with a passion for making a difference to others.
You’ll be working full time, 40 hours per week (Monday Friday) helping ensure the safe and smooth running of services for the people in our care.
Note: This role is a 6 month Fixed Term Contract (FTC) at Cygnet Bury Hudson, which provides a wide range of secure mental health services for men, including individuals with a diagnosis of personality disorder.
Each service user has a bedroom with en suite facilities and a range of communal spaces including a gym, laundry, occupational therapy kitchen, therapy garden, and woodland walkways down to the Elton Reservoir.

Responsibilities
* Manage diary arrangements and prepare relevant papers for meetings.
* Maintain a good working relationship with clinicians and caring professionals.
* Attend and take minutes at a variety of clinical meetings, hearings, and tribunals.
* Produce high-quality admission and discharge summaries and tribunal reports.
* Attend ward rounds with the multi-disciplinary team and patients in attendance.
* Take accurate minutes, summarising discussions and noting related actions.
* Ensure that ward round summaries are saved in a timely manner on the electronic patient information system.
* Create and maintain patient records and paper files.
Requirements
* Service orientated with experience as a Medical Secretary, and knowledge of mental health.
* Flexible, adaptable, organised, and responsible.
* Excellent typist, ideally proficient to RSA level 2 and with audio transcription skills.
* Calm under pressure, able to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent interpersonal skills.
* Highly proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word and databases.
* Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
