About the role
The Office of Professor Mariana Mazzucato is seeking a Project Coordinator to support the delivery of high-profile, multi-year research and policy projects that shape global debates on green industrial strategy, new economic thinking, and state capacity.
Working closely with the wider team and Professor Mazzucato, the Project Coordinator will play a vital role in managing day-to-day project activities across multiple workstreams, ensuring timely delivery and quality outputs. The postholder will coordinate cross-functional collaboration, maintain project plans and trackers, and support communications and stakeholder engagement to advance the team’s ambitious objectives in the domain of cutting-edge new economic thinking.
This role requires strong organisational and project management skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to resolving challenges within a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate a keen interest in the Office’s mission and a commitment to excellence in project delivery.
About you
The successful candidate will be an organised, proactive, and project professional who thrives in a dynamic policy and research environment. They will bring strong project management skills, working with the Programme Manager to deliver high-quality and strategically aligned projects that advance IIPP’s mission. The post holder will be confident in shaping project scopes, maintaining clear plans, monitoring progress, and anticipating risks to keep delivery on track.
They will engage thoughtfully with the substance of IIPP’s research and policy work, contributing insight to the development of impactful outputs and ensuring that project delivery reflects thematic priorities such as green industrial strategy, public value, and mission-oriented policy. The successful candidate will be an effective communicator, able to represent project priorities, liaise with internal and external partners, and prepare accessible, well-structured communications for diverse audiences.
The post holder will bring experience in coordinating people and workflows, supporting team members, and managing events, workshops, and international engagements with professionalism and attention to detail. They will demonstrate financial awareness, contributing to budgets, funder reporting, and planning to support the sustainability of project work.
