We're urgently looking for a committed and motivated person to work closely with and support The Retirement Housing Manager in delivering a high-quality Retirement Housing service to the organisation. This is a temporary role for a Retired Scheme Manager based in Cambridge to work 20 hours per week ideally to start W/C 29th April paying £14.45ph for a minimum of 3 months. The ideal candidate will be experienced working with vulnerable adults in a semi-independent housing service, as well as have a strong understanding of the needs of Older People. This role calls for experience of completing risk assessments and possess a sound knowledge of welfare benefits and health and safety procedures for this type of service. What you'll do Manage a retirement housing scheme delivering a quality housing and support service to tenants, stakeholders and partners Be able to priorities your work and meet firm deadlines. Act as main point of contact for Tenants and their families. Provide cover for the Scheme Manager Service at other retirement housing schemes when necessary. Writing and reviewing reports and completing risk assessments strong communication skills with the ability to promote independence, encourage tenant participation in activities. A team player and able to foster good working relationships with tenants, families, colleagues and external partners. Come forward with a can-do attitude Respond to emergency situations received via the Warden Call system or other contact during daytime hours Ensure all Health & Safety policies and procedures are maintained within the service including the prompt reporting and follow up of communal repairs Sound administrative skills with strong IT skills including the maintenance of statutory records, timely and appropriate filing. Possess a sound knowledge of welfare benefits and health and safety procedures. Provide and facilitate regular activities for residents both in and out of the scheme and promote the use of the communal lounge.
