We are looking for a Specialist SEN & 1:1 Support Assistant to join a school in Horsham, supporting pupils with additional learning needs on a one-to-one basis.

About the Role
As a Specialist SEN & 1:1 Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the SEN team to deliver individualised support for pupils, helping them access lessons and achieve their learning goals. You will assist with personal care where needed, support behaviour management, and contribute to pupils’ overall progress and confidence. Your role will have a direct, positive impact on the learning experience of pupils requiring additional support.
Responsibilities
* Provide one-to-one support for pupils with SEN or additional learning needs
* Assist pupils with personal care tasks as required
* Support classroom activities and ensure pupils can engage fully with lessons
* Implement behaviour management strategies and encourage positive behaviour
* Record and monitor pupil progress, reporting to teaching staff as necessary
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and support staff to deliver individual learning plans
Qualifications & Skills
* Experience supporting pupils with SEN or additional learning needs
* Knowledge of personal care practices and SEN support strategies
* Ability to implement effective behaviour management techniques
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Patience, empathy, and professionalism when working with pupils
* Flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of individual pupils
